Freda Mindlin

Freda Mindlin, President/CEO of Opportunity Resources, has over twenty-five years of executive search experience in the not-for-profit cultural sector. This includes several years when Freda was affiliated with Johnson Smith & Knisely and Ward Howell, two major international executive search firms where she managed the not-for-profit practice divisions.

Approximately twenty years ago Freda established Opportunity Resources Inc. as a stand-alone search firm. With a significant background in the world of cultural and educational organizations, Freda has personally executed or supervised several hundred senior-level executive search assignments for museums of every genre, including history, science and visual art and performing arts organizations throughout the United States.

Freda is recognized as a knowledgeable resource in the arts industry. She has served as a speaker at conferences and workshops for professional organizations including the American Alliance of Museums (formerly American Association of Museums), Association of Art Museum Directors and the Rehabilitation Services Administration on leadership, Board/ Director relationships and careers in the arts. Freda chaired the grants review panel for service and presenting organizations for the New York State Council for the Arts for three years. She has also served on not-for-profit boards including the East Hampton Contemporary Art Center, Women In Development, NY, and ArtTable Inc.

Originally from New England, Freda attended the University of Maine and graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City.
